Body: we ate a banned substance
Me: this is soya. There are no banned substances.
Body: yeah there is
Natural flavourings: πŸ™‚
me: are you KIDDING ME (it is unfortunately not kidding me)

This is. Really annoying. To say the least. Fortunately it is not as bad as it could be pain wise, likely as it's been so long since I last had an attack, but it's still pretty bad: as it's liquid I'm hoping it lifts sooner. Regardless. What the hell is tomato, onion, or potato doing in SOY MILK. get out of my face

The downside of having been mostly vegetarian (I was somewhat vegan, aside from cheese, and somewhat pescatarian, because I would have fish one to two times every couple of weeks mostly to keep that option available to fall back on just in case. Since I am now eating fish five times a week, this is very fortunate I did so, lol) is that a lot of alternative products have a lot of random ingredients in and most of them have tomato/onion. The ones that do not have "natural flavourings". It is always a gamble, and they are always different, and I'm begging brands to tell me what these natural flavourings are. The soy I have is from Alpro and none of the rest of their products set me off but this one sole drink has natural flavourings in whilst the others do not so :') culprit found, though it is still technically a mystery...

I started reading Korra's Ruins of the Empire comic a few days ago when the cramps kicked in and read the rest of it whilst my body screamed at me. it was not very good. however: woman (kuvira) )

I am still having issues with food.

it's exhausting frankly )

bonus noise issues )

More importantly, I finished my first draft of Ashe site!!!! The final wordcount is 31,589 words over 20 pages; the shortest is under a 100 words and the longest is over 4k. I wrote the ouihaw page last and I don't know if I did them justice 😭😭 I was trying to be concise but I felt overly forgetful of my own reasonings due to pain/sensory saturation; I think it's fine though. As usual I'll let the whole document sit for a bit before coming back to tear it apart because I will care less about deleting things :') and rarepair week is next week, so I can go return to editing and additions for those fics distraction free...

Waiting out pain or noise with no brain for words has also meant I've made a lot of layouts for sites lol. I refreshed farron for the first time in nine years. I tried and failed an AmΓ©lie layout with no inspiration just to see what I would get, but I have a clearer idea for another so will likely attempt that soonish (I need stark colours and defined lines. Maybe white textured background with some black on the header and pops of red throughout to symbolise blood.) I also briefly attempted a guestbook layout but it's much too small and I don't have the brain to figure out installing a guestbook either rn but. I may do a new layout for my joined fanlisting page too to match Aigis and make it Yuka-tan pink... many possibilities.
requiems: (quina β˜™ words of wisdom)
For the last two months or so, I've been having really bad problems with food.

tl;dr context. )

I really cannot emphasise how much I despise food and eating at the best of times but fine body. Sure. I don't drink fizzy drinks, alcohol, don't eat meat, no dairy but one hard cheese only. I cut likely culprits like wheat and gluten, and that didn't work, so elected to go back to basics of just two ingredients for meals that I make for myself and working my way up again until I figured out what the specific thing it suddenly despised was.

Unfortunately the answer fucking sucks, because it's tomatoes.

Tomatoes. That I eat. In everything. That I have eaten my whole life, even in my "I will not and never will eat fruit and vegetables" stage. I will eat chilli or bolognese every day for weeks and never get bored of it. Those tomatoes.

Lmao, says my body.

Thankfully the symptoms are an intolerance over an allergy so it may only be temporary. It's not nightshades, only tomatoes. It doesn't care a whit about potatoes. Eat them taters, we still love 'em, for now. That tomato upset only happens five or so hours after eating it, lasts a few more with discomfort, it stops, blah blah. But. Do you know how many foods have tomatoes in them. Pretty much everything. It is so. Annoying. To cut out tomatoes for a few months to see if you can eat them again. And not to mention the disinterest I have with everything else that I don't have with tomatoes.

It also might not necessarily be tomatoes, but histamine from leftovers, because in my testing I did notice it cared less about meals I'd frozen and defrosted. I'll test his again later in a couple of months.

My body really likes making it difficult.

But wait, there's more! spoilers: it's not just tomatoes. )

So here I am, the day before groceries, sadly swapping food out because I can't eat tomatoes. My body really said "no vegetables and this time I MEAN IT". I really, really hope it doesn't develop aversions to asparagus and baby corn or carrots in the intervening time due to eating more of those.

One of these days I really will switch to solely eating fucking soup, lmao.
