Melting out of May

requiemsAnd now it's the end of May... there's going to be a heatwave until next Thursday, Monday will be 30c, I am not looking forward to it, particularly if my neighbours continue to make noise despite being asked to fix the problem, their response was to do it even more (ugh). They don't seem to be there tonight, so perhaps they have buggered off for the bank holiday weekend and I can get some sleep before my body stops being able to do basic things like, idk, breathe properly, lol.
I was going to play Endwalker after mogtomes; this was the original plan, Shadow of the Tomb Raider was the break. This has not happened due to aforementioned noise, my exhaustion is through the roof and I am far below baseline. Instead, I've been working on alts.
Freja I blitzed through ARR in just a few days; she's been doing pvp for about three weeks, she's series level 16 just from daily frontlines, though I took a break for a few days after groceries. I put warrior, bard, and dragoon through MSQ - tank priority queue, bard is the closest to a crossbow, dragoon because she does BIG JUMPS! the big jumps are essential! - and then decided I wanted summoner so she could have Garuda-egi as the default carbuncle as she's wind themed. I levelled this to 50 with three levelling roulette dungeons only because road to 90 is op. I then decided I wanted white mage as well, which is just me hitting a dungeon a day depending on what level she currently is. Otherwise, I've been power levelling warrior as high as I can through levelling roulette and frontlines (it's 79) and putting sage through alliance. I'm thinking about levelling everything at least to 50 for future use.
This is what I decided to do on Khlip to empty out his inventory of low level gear. This is extraordinarily slow going. My strategy is to pop the 15% exp bonus manual from GC squadrons, put on every exp bonus accessory possible, eat, and then do a levelling roulette plus 2-3 more dungeons in a staggered fashion. He's been getting lucky this week, all his roulettes have been on level dungeons, I got smn/sch to 50 and pld/mnk/blm are around 42/43 respectively, ast is behind at 35 but does not have the hunting log incentives so I'm mostly keeping it a set of gear behind roughly. Drk is the last one I have to pick up... a Frejyr for a Fray...
When Khlip hits 50 on everything I... kind of want to do the same on Amélie... rip. Her list is slightly smaller, being pld, war, whm, mnk, and drg. Not doing war is rare for me, it's my defacto tank of choice.
I've also put Soley through ARR, though much slower than Freja - she's up to Garuda crystals, Aurum Vale for GC ranking (squadron next), so she's slowly getting there... I keep envisioning her as something of a pld/whm hybrid... I had to see Jenlyns twice in one day on two characters for pld quests it was TERRIBLE.
Stadium continues. I hate the cat. Genuinely hate the cat on melee heroes there's fuck all you can do. She is already extremely niche, you hard sacrifice a support ult by having her, and sure you can drag around the dps ults and it may win you fights but I'm not seeing it win the game for the cat. I went back to D.Va on tank, and repositioned my camera's field of view back by about 10%, which has been incredibly helpful with me being able to aim at stuff in front of her instead of forever struggling to do that. I've been enjoying dps a lot, but I've reached the buggy part of stadium ranking when you just ping-pong the same +80, -80 score over and over again and it's impossible to climb anymore as it doesn't actually give you compensation for doing well. In fact you may as well not try past a certain point, which feels very uninspiring to me. What is the purpose of not starting from nothing each season anymore if I've won 14 games but moved precisely nowhere. smh.
I got three comp point weapons though, being jade for Ashe (fairy skin), crimson wolf for Lifeweaver (it matches his Adam skin too well...), and galactic for sombra (music festival skins are perfect with galactic and I doubt I will ever take this off her, so). Should finish the season with enough for two more, so probably Ashe crimson and one of the golds for some more girls, perhaps...?
The last thing to say is I have a new favourite ship, Emre/Freja, or Emfrej. They captivated me from the start but they have parked in the part of my brain where Shepard and Garrus hang out because it's moderately similar energy. What if the horrors took you and made you into a living weapon and your memory is fragmented and you're barely there anymore but the person you trusted most who you left behind is the best bounty hunter in the world and was able to find you and she looked upon the destruction you wrought and decided to stand by you. Package deal.
It's a shame they're trapped in this game because I would absolutely play a 40hr rpg about their doomed misadventures together. They have so much chemistry! I need Olivia Le Andersen in more things her voice scratches my brain so nicely. But they're getting a decent chunk of lore and lore together (they were set up that way), and I'm Seated. So much so I wrote something for them and you know what happened last time I did that.
Funnily enough before I got in deep I was considering Emre as a voice claim for Khlip so now it's just god there are so many Frej's. This would be what he would want.
