requiemsI've actually bought a lot of merch lately, majority figures: combined with all the furniture spends that needs another round to finish off, plus the Rising sale and the P5 collab, I really gotta stop spending money on shinies, woops...
Anyway, consider this part things that I want, and things that I've bought since last time. I've unboxed the majority of what I own at this point so I could stash the boxes in boxes (I fear I also need more boxes...), but once I get all my bookcases and kallaxes set up how I want, pictures time. I had a smallish break in that I did organising in some cupboards as I was waiting on acrylic, two way inserts for the og kallax that were made to order, but as they've arrived and will be brought to me tomorrow with groceries, perhaps I can install those at the weekend.
KOTOBUKIYA
As you may recall... my core desire was acquiring the mane six for the My Little Pony bishojo rerelease, and I now have two of three of them, since Rainbow Dash is due in the next wave (but she is preordered).
Fluttershy was from Hobby Figures, a UK company, mainly to see if they would be a suitable substitute for all the other companies I used to use that went bump due to Brexit, and I've had a few other things since from them, so I'm fairly confident about using them. Pinkie I missed the window on, so after some scouring managed to find her at Lapin Noir, a Japan based company, for less than she would have cost from any of the sold out stores in the UK that had her, even with postage and tax. I'd also be willing to use them again in the future. I just have to bear the £135 limit in mind, and a lot of figures outpace that these days...
Since I last mentioned them, Cadence and Chrysalis' final sculpts and preorders went up and unfortunately I want these too. 😭 it's the designs! They're just so aesthetically pleasing and tasty! Finally some good food!! Will the Rems that likes sets demand we get the other two I don't have! Possibly!! How many MLP bishojo's do you need, Rems? More! All of them!
...once I've finished my set-up, I suppose we'll see if there's enough leftover...
Amu also got her first scale after twenty years, and I need this. If they do an Amulet Diamond I'm definitely in trouble.
NENDOROIDS
Faye Valentine is on pre-order, but I caved on Kasumi. Someone was selling her very reasonably on eBay and I keep tabs on mfc sales for my watchlist and eBay searches as well... just in case.
I recently put an order in with the proxy Neokyo for items off mercari, which was largely Ashe and Overwatch merch, plus a couple of dirt cheap Tales of rubber straps I've always low key wanted. The problem is, I have discovered I can get nendos at a much lower aftermarket price from there, so am now considering Haru and Makoto's nendoroids... I desire more phantom thieves, alright... this would also be a viable solution to getting hold of Kairi, because she was never available for distribution in the EU (yay copyright laws) so I am thinking about it.
The other option for Haru and Makoto is Solaris, but given the sloooow experience I'm having with EMS, I'm reluctant to do that again, lol.
Randomly there is one Miku nendoroid I would like, and it's this one. She's inexpensive, so I'll think about picking her up soon.
STATUES
First... I bought the NANAs. The price for both new was £380. Someone was selling them preowned on MFC for £270, so I rustled them out on eBay and got myself an offered price of £240. After I paid the seller, they discovered the boxes had been damaged; I'm a box hoarder (I am not joking, the entire bottom row of my original kallax is now just figure boxes and I have run out of room there, the rest are going to end up under a bed I think) so gave it some thought, but eventually decided yes, I did still want them, because they knocked off another £40 from the price - as it is I essentially got them 2 for 1, and they are very beautiful in person and have pride of place in one of my bookcases at present, where they'll likely stay.
This Sakura is my bane, because I passed on her at the time, and have regretted it pretty much ever since, to the point she is one of the last remaining grails, and is so expensive when you can get hold of her I cannot justify her cost. My affection for it has only grown year by year, not helped by me now being obsessed with a rose themed girl (Ashe), so I will forever be keeping an eye out for her.
The last is probably the Eeveelutions figure; the Fire Emblems, though really damn nice, are so much money 💀 all the prices are heavily marked up in the UK stores and elsewhere would all be hit by duty, so...

I've had my figures in boxes for so long it's partly sentimental I think 😭😭 if I ever want to put them away again for whatever reason it's just efficient to have them, esp when with nendos or figma when I don't use all the pieces, and nendo and figma boxes are designed to be looked at anyways. There's only a couple I would toss, which are the PUPs (I might save the cardboard backgrounds though), and also Ammy's, because her box was heavily damaged during delivery and it's a miracle she survived unscathed as is, box integrity now she out of it is kind of poor.
