requiemsFashionably late to the party due to the ever mounting list of health problems I have, today I did patch 7.1 in FFXIV.
Immediately I like seeing people going back to tulliyolal and yeah, there would be 30 somethings who had never learned basic life skills

WHAT THE FUCK ARE THESE ORANGE AOE'S
They're so like? Visually soft? To look at it? Really smooth? My brain hates how they transition in like they're being drawn in instead of the hard "aoe is going to be here" lines we have had every other time before this ever

That misdirection is evil. Like true evil. I can't change my direction multiple times game that's the point LMAO. We pick a direction and go once and that's it. Also worse because the NPCs won't heal you if you end up in goop (which I did, first time I died and the second time. Thank god for second wind)
Okay but the storm in the middle with the blue night sky and the quarry is me like alright this is the black right quarry out of control,

What the fuck is with these swirls on the floor (fortunately it's just the same as lunar subterenne last boss but with a different starting tell but still. what the fuck are those swirls on the floor.)
I did like running round the pit tho. Would hate if I was anything but ranged phys. :')
Honestly I'm really glad I do these with duty support and that it's an option because some of the wild mechanics/visual tells has my brain scream at me when it's not expecting it to happen, like I can't prepare or look away or do my usual tricks for mechs when I don't know it's happening, but I do like to dungeons blind at least 🥲 it does mean I have to stop for a couple of minutes after a boss ends to let my brain calm down though, but pulls are pretty brain empty as a dps in duty support even if you run ahead and grab double, so it's nice downtime...
If the bunny is showing us an echo. And we painstakingly went to great lengths to say they put people souls in animal bodies throughout the entire dungeon. Who is it that was put in the bunny
It's not zoraal ja, it's not the researcher guy (we fought him in the other room) (he was leader of the village)

This is nice I like learning about customs in a place again, I feel like we didn't the last time we were here, we were here for half a second all things considered. Esp because we weren't here with wuk Lamat and Koana, just Erenville
I rly hope this isn't all we ever get of shaaloani ever again tho...
This fight is funny bc it's prih, a bard, koana, a machinist, and wuk lamat, a warrior. This ain't balanced at all.

I like this parallel of like. Koana not wanting to know, refusing to find out, but holding that resentment close his whole life and being convinced he was abandoned by his parents because of the rroneek; and gulool ja, having to face if he wants to know who his parents are (in an innocent state), and if he doesn't he'll spend his whole life wondering and it is better to know; and also zoraal ja and the fire he kept burning over being convinced he could not live up to being the miracle when in fact his father loved him. I could easily see Koana straying down a similar route to zoraal ja if he hadn't changed his mind during the rite of succession

How many sphene's can we fit into this patch. At least one more. I expect it was not the endless sphene that had the curated memories of the real sphene so she could perform her task + plus her time ruling as an endless (those memories are hers as an individual) but perhaps the spat out memories that were deemed unnecessary by the system, or similar. I'm looking at Lightning and Lumina rn. Or just all the memories of sphene when she died rather than selective ones. We'll find out... NEXT TIME.
Soon, probably! I'm glad Zoraal Ja was a footnote, tbh. I put this patch off for so long and wasn't really interested in the lead up to it because I sincerely do not give a single damn about him, but this was nice.
