Ashe skin - Fearless

After not having a new legendary since August (Dorothy) (I'm not really a fan of it; although I do note how Ashe is once again being tied to fairytales. Not even reaching when I wrote her into one. Bob is also the tin man in search of a heart and there's a spray to that effect of Ashe being his heart and I cry about that in particular), Ashe got her second collaborative skin, which is a second round of the kpop girl group Le Sserafim.
As soon as we had the first hype teaser I hoped Ashe would make it in, if only because we already had a Security Bob model from the first collab's MV, and that's like, half your design job done. I also hoped the fifth skin would go to Widow instead of another D.Va skin, but alas. My ouihaw dreams of seeing them visually interact must be laid to rest for another day.
The first thing we saw of Fearless Ashe was heavily stylised concept art and I was immediately full of concerns because not a one of her design features remained. And the concept art wasn't really selling it - I don't think any of the girls were immediately identifiable except Juno and Mercy, and for Angela, only because of the wings being a giveaway. I did like Ashe's hoodie being a creative means to circumvent the large hat requirement, and the white hoodie kind of represents her hair colour as contrast, but after Calamity Empress fallout I just wanted her to be recognisable; a very low bar, but one that skin failed to hit.

Fortunately I got my wish. We got an animated teaser and they went hard on her make up and keeping all her facial sharp angles intact. As soon as I saw her expressions I knew we were gucci. That's my girl!! She's comfy and also cozy. It's also a fun play on the fact she is going to a concert incognito; she fully covers her tattooed arm with a half glove, it explains the hair, etc, a nice little twist.
The cat ears truly swayed me, right from the concept art. Also they have physics. They wiggle. This is crucial.
Also I really like. Her waist. It's for women to hold imo. Also her fish net stockings. I am thinking about them a lot. (The in game splash artwork is much better I think. I look at her fondly.) She has a few unique sound effects, though not as many as the other girls and rather infrequent (launching Bob, one for when she's finished reloading, and several on her default hero select animation that don't translate into gameplay but hey if you're going to give her extra sounds for her bullet walk I can and will watch it for the millionth time).

The funniest thing about this skin is... we didn't have any athleisure skins before this one. You know what does? FFXIV. I can make this skin basically 1:1. I am going to as soon as Rising sale hits.
I've been decked out in full Fearless Ashe and probably will be until oh, Dokiwatch, my beloved magical girl season. Fearless Ashe rotates out of the shop today; I've been meaning to make this post for two weeks. Better late than never?
